AMMAN, July 26 (Petra) — President of both the Jordan and Amman
Chambers of Commerce, Senator Khalil El-Haj Tawfiq, held talks in
London with Secretary General of the Arab-British Chamber of Commerce
(ABCC) Rita Massoud to explore avenues for deepening economic
cooperation between Jordan and the United Kingdom.

Meeting at the ABCC headquarters, the two sides discussed frameworks
to expand the presence of Jordanian enterprises within British
markets while driving foreign direct investment into the Kingdom,
according to a statement issued Sunday by the Jordan Chamber of
Commerce.

El-Haj Tawfiq, who also serves on the ABCC board, emphasized the need
for a structured, institutional roadmap that aligns priorities,
connects business communities in both nations, and translates
prospective opportunities into concrete commercial ventures.

He outlined key sectors with high growth potential, including
information technology, tourism, engineering and advisory services,
logistics, halal goods, creative industries, pharmaceuticals, and
agrifood processing. Establishing Jordan as a regional springboard
for British enterprise across Arab markets remains a focal point, he
noted.

To drive export growth, El-Haj Tawfiq called for a comprehensive
matrix mapping UK market demands against Jordanian goods and services
holding a competitive edge. Parallel efforts, he added, should
highlight Jordan’s investment incentives to potential investors.

Describing the ABCC as a key strategic partner, El-Haj Tawfiq
credited the chamber for bridging business communities, providing
market intelligence, and uncovering new trade channels. He also
stressed the importance of human capital development, advocating for
joint training programs, British corporate apprenticeships for
Jordanian youth, and labor market data exchanges to better match
skill sets with UK industry needs.

For her part, Massoud reaffirmed the ABCC’s commitment to partnering
with the Jordan and Amman Chambers of Commerce to launch targeted
programs. Future initiatives will focus on high-yield sectors,
targeted B2B networking, market access support, sector-specific trade
missions, and bilateral delegation exchanges.

Established in 1975, the Arab-British Chamber of Commerce serves as a
primary pillar promoting trade, investment, and commercial
partnerships between the United Kingdom and Arab nations.
