Amman, September 13 (QNA) – Jordan’s Statistics Department on Sunday released the Consumer Price Index for August, showing that the inflation rate for the first eight months of 2026 reached 2.20 percent, compared with the same period in 2025.
The inflation rate in August was 2.66 percent, compared with the same month in 2025, down 0.25 percentage point from July, indicating easing price pressures during the month.
As for the contribution of goods and services groups to the inflation rate recorded during the first eight months of 2026, rents accounted for about 0.71 percentage point, followed by transportation at about 0.60 percentage point, oils and fats at about 0.26 percentage point, and tobacco and cigarettes at about 0.17 percentage point.
