Washington, DC, Feb. 12 (Petra) His Majesty King Abdullah II and World Bank Group President Ajay Banga met in Washington, DC, on Wednesday and discussed enhancing economic cooperation across various sectors.
His Majesty highlighted Jordan’s efforts in implementing economic and administrative modernisation in order to increase growth, attract investments, create job opportunities, and streamline government procedures.
The King expressed appreciation for the World Bank’s development support for Jordan, especially for transportation, water, energy, mining, and tourism projects.
The meeting also covered regional developments, including efforts to rebuild Gaza.
The World Bank Group president noted Jordan’s important efforts in implementing economic reform and modernisation plans.
Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh and Jordan’s Ambassador to the United States Dina Kawar attended the meeting.
