Kuwait City, July 07 (QNA) – The Kuwaiti Cabinet has expressed its utmost denunciation of the Iranian attack on a Qatari tanker while transiting near the Strait of Hormuz.
It said this act amounts to a flagrant violation of international law and poses a direct threat to the security and safety of maritime navigation, as well as global energy supplies.
During its meeting held on Tuesday, chaired by HH Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the Cabinet reaffirmed that the State of Kuwait stands side by side with the State of Qatar in all measures it takes to protect its security and national interests.
The cabinet also stressed Kuwait’s rejection of any practices that could undermine the security and stability of the region, emphasizing the need for an immediate halt to all escalatory actions and adherence to the rules of international law that guarantee freedom of navigation and safe passage through international waterways.
