Lusail Circuit Prepares to Host MotoGP Grand Prix Next Month

Doha, October 13 (QNA) – Qatar is preparing to host the 2026 Qatar Airways Grand Prix of MotoGP from November 6 to 8 at Lusail International Circuit, retaining its status as the only night race on the championship calendar.

Since joining the MotoGP calendar in 2004, the Qatar Grand Prix has become a major highlight of the season.

In 2008, Qatar made history by hosting the championship’s first-ever night race, establishing a distinctive racing experience under the lights.

The 2026 event highlights Lusail International Circuit’s world-class facilities, organisational capabilities and unique atmosphere, bringing together speed, skill and strategy on one of the sport’s most prominent stages.

MotoGP is the premier class of the FIM Grand Prix motorcycle racing world championship, established in 1949.

The 2026 season features 22 rounds across five continents, with riders competing for world championship points.

The championship also includes Moto2 and Moto3, alongside MotoE at selected events.

The season continues to attract leading riders, including Fabio Quartararo and Alex Rins with Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP, and Francesco Bagnaia and Marc Marquez with Ducati Lenovo Team.

Marco Bezzecchi also continues with Aprilia Racing following his strong 2025 campaign. (QNA)
