Explores Enhancing Economic, Statistical Cooperation Between Oman, SESRIC
Muscat,
16 Sep 2026 (ONA) — Dr. Khamis Saif Al Jabri, Minister of Economy, received
today Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk, Director General of the Statistical, Economic and
Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC).
During
the meeting, the two sides discussed enhancing dialogue and understanding among
the member states of the organization. They also discussed intensifying
cooperation and solidarity across various political, economic, social, and
cultural fields, as well as combating terrorism and extremism.
The
meeting commenced with a welcoming speech and a visual presentation on Oman
Vision 2040 and its strategic goals. The meeting also addressed the economic
performance of the Sultanate of Oman during the period (2021-2026) and the
course of joint cooperation between the Ministry of Economy and SESRIC.
Furthermore,
the meeting witnessed a review of future cooperation priorities between the two
sides, affirming the centre’s role in driving social and economic development
and enhancing intra-cooperation in the fields of statistics, economic and
social research, training, and technical cooperation.
The
meeting was attended by Dr. Nasser Rashid Al Maawali, Undersecretary of the
Ministry of Economy, along with a number of officials and relevant personnel
from the ministry.
