Amman, Feb. 9 (Petra) – The National Center for Human Rights (NCHR) in Jordan has expressed its full support for His Majesty King Abdullah II’s firm stance rejecting any attempts to forcibly displace Palestinians from Gaza or any other area, calling such actions a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and human rights.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the NCHR emphasized that forced displacement constitutes a war crime under the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949 and represents a direct violation of the right to housing, security, and dignity. The center warned that such actions threaten regional stability and violate international resolutions, particularly UN General Assembly Resolution 194, which affirms the right of Palestinian refugees to return to their homes.

The center praised King Abdullah II’s unwavering stance, reaffirming Jordan’s absolute rejection of any plans to impose a new reality at the expense of Palestinian rights. It highlighted that the King’s position reflects Jordan’s historical commitment to safeguarding the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, upholding international law, and opposing policies that exacerbate Palestinian suffering or undermine prospects for a just and lasting peace.

The NCHR also warned of the catastrophic humanitarian consequences of any forced displacement efforts and called on the international community to uphold its legal and moral responsibilities by protecting Palestinian civilians. It urged decisive action against any measures aimed at altering the region’s demographic structure by force.

Additionally, the center called for Israel’s compliance with international law and an immediate halt to its ongoing violations against Palestinians. It also urged global support for Jordan’s efforts to defend Palestinian rights, prevent forced displacement, and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, while halting the escalating violence against civilians.
