London, July 20 (Petra) – Newly-appointed British Prime Minister Andy
Burnham pledged on Monday to fundamentally transform the country’s
governance, promising a 10-year plan to outline the nation’s future
priorities.
In his inaugural address, Burnham declared “this moment is a turning
point” for the UK. He announced that his government will soon
introduce measures to ease cost-of-living pressures and alleviate
financial burdens on citizens.
The prime minister also committed to ending street homelessness,
expanding council housing, and upholding the UK’s defense
commitments.
