Jeddah, June 17 (QNA) – The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) warned against Israeli measures targeting the political, historical, and legal status of Hebron, including a decision to withdraw municipal powers over the Ibrahimi Mosque, the Old City, and nearby areas, and to cancel the Hebron Agreement.
In a statement, the OIC stressed that Israel has no sovereignty over the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967, including Hebron and its holy sites, under relevant UN and UNESCO resolutions.
The organization also urged the international community to protect the Ibrahimi Mosque and Hebron’s Old City, describing them as an integral part of the State of Palestine and its UNESCO-listed endangered cultural heritage. (QNA)
