Amman, Feb. 17 (Petra) – Security services have arrested a man accused of impersonating a police officer to defraud foreign workers in Irbid Governorate.
According to the Public Security Directorate’s media spokesperson, authorities received multiple complaints, regarding individuals posing as officers to extort money from foreign workers. A video circulating on social media also highlighted the fraudulent activities.
Following investigations, security personnel identified the main suspect, who has a prior criminal record. He was apprehended after locating his whereabouts, and investigations are ongoing to refer him to the judiciary. Meanwhile, efforts continue to track down his accomplices.
