Amman, May 7 (Petra) – The Public Security Directorate’s (PSD) Residence and Borders Department Wednesday called on foreign visitors in the Kingdom to renew their residence permits according to legally defined periods, or face fines.
Under a recently-passed amendment of the residency and foreigners affairs law, a visitor who had legally entered the Kingdom without obtaining a temporary residence permit, or overstayed the visit, or had not applied for renewal of the annual residency permit within one month of its expiration date, will be fined JD90 for each month, or three dinars per day, the PSD said.
Rectifying the legal status spares individuals from legal action, it stressed.
