Amman, Sept. 21 (Petra) — The Ministry of Public Works and Housing
has announced tenders for the construction of four new schools in
Madaba, Balqa, Ajloun and Amman, with a combined estimated value of
JD 8.689 million.

The projects are financed through the second phase of a loan from the
Kuwait Fund and are being carried out in cooperation with the
Ministry of Education.

In a statement issued Monday, the ministry said the projects fall
within government plans and programs to develop educational
infrastructure, as part of the executive program of the Economic
Modernisation Vision and the government’s plans to implement school
construction projects in various governorates.

The projects include Al-Nahda Secondary School for Boys in Madaba,
with an estimated cost of JD 2.4 million and a 540-day implementation
period. The school will cover 4,504 square meters and comprise three
floors and a partial basement. It will include classrooms,
laboratories, administrative rooms, sanitary facilities, teachers’
rooms, a multipurpose hall, playgrounds, courtyards and external
works.

In Balqa, the tender covers the construction of Salhoub Secondary
School for Boys, at an estimated cost of JD 2.789 million and an
implementation period of 540 days. The school will have an area of
approximately 4,378 square meters and consist of three floors and a
partial basement, along with architectural, civil and
electromechanical works, facilities, courtyards, a playground and
external works.

In Ajloun, the ministry has tendered the construction of Abeen Basic
School for Boys, with an estimated cost of JD 1.9 million and an
implementation period of 450 days. The 3,353-square-meter building
will consist of four floors. The project includes site preparation,
architectural, civil and electromechanical works, as well as a
playground, parking areas, pathways, fencing and other external
works.

The fourth project is the construction of Um Al-Hiran Secondary
School for Boys in Amman, with an estimated cost of JD 1.6 million
and an implementation period of 365 days. The school will cover
approximately 3,188 square meters over three floors. The project also
includes electromechanical works, interior finishes, external
courtyards, parking areas, car parks, canopies, accessible pathways,
fencing and water tanks.

The ministry said it continues to coordinate with the Ministry of
Education and relevant authorities on the tendering and
implementation of school construction projects according to approved
priorities and needs. It said the projects form part of efforts to
develop educational infrastructure and improve services and
facilities for students across the Kingdom.
