Doha, September 29 (QNA) – Qatar Chamber and a Finnish business delegation, Tuesday, explored opportunities for cooperation and partnership among both countries’ private sectors.
This came during a meeting held between HE Chairman of Qatar Chamber Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani and HE Under-Secretary of State for International Trade at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Finland Jarno Syrjala.
The meeting explored opportunities for cooperation and partnership across a range of sectors, including investment, trade, manufacturing, security technology, and artificial intelligence, among others.
In his remarks, HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim noted the growing interest among Qatari businesspeople and investors in exploring opportunities in Finland.
His Excellency also highlighted the presence of Finnish companies in Qatar through investments and partnerships in sectors including technology, aviation, digitalization, and education.
The Chairman of Qatar Chamber called on the business communities of both countries to strengthen communication, exchange expertise, and pursue partnerships and joint projects, with potential for cooperation in technology, innovation, AI, advanced industries, clean energy and sustainability, healthcare, the pharmaceuticalآ industry, food security, agrotechnology, logistics, and financial services.
For his part, HE Syrjala praised the Qatar National Vision 2030 and its objective of building a diversified, knowledge-based and sustainable economy, supported by investment in innovation, human capital, and long-term growth.
He also noted that these priorities align closely with Finland’s strengths in technology, innovation, education, digitalization, and sustainable solutions.
His Excellency further said that there is strong potential to bring together Qatar’s development priorities and Finnish expertise to create practical solutions and mutually beneficial partnerships.
Finland and Qatar have enjoyed longstanding, friendly, and constructive relations, noted HE the Finnish Deputy Minister, identifying digitalization and technology, energy and the green transition, education and skills development, smart infrastructure, and advanced industrial solutions as promising areas for cooperation.
HE Syrjala also emphasized Finland’s commitment to reliability, transparency, long-term partnerships and meeting its commitments, expressing hope that the meeting would strengthen ties between the two business communities and pave the way for new partnerships, investments and opportunities. (QNA)
