Qatar Condemns Renewed Iranian Attacks on Jordan

Amman, Sept. 9 (Petra) — Qatar strongly condemned renewed Iranian
attacks on Jordan as a flagrant violation of the Kingdom’s
sovereignty and territorial integrity and a serious breach of
international law, the UN Charter, and the principles of
good-neighborly relations.

In a statement issued Wednesday, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign
Affairs warned that the continuation of the attacks represents a
dangerous escalation that could complicate efforts to contain
tensions and undermine political and diplomatic efforts to achieve
security and stability in the region.

The ministry held Iran fully legally responsible for the attacks and
for any resulting consequences and repercussions. It also reaffirmed
Qatar’s full solidarity with Jordan and its support for all
legitimate measures taken by the Kingdom to safeguard its
sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity.

The ministry further stressed the need for the immediate and complete
cessation of all military actions and attacks threatening regional
security and stability, as well as restraint from any steps that
could widen the escalation. It called for a serious return to
dialogue and negotiations and for adherence to understandings reached
through diplomatic efforts.
