Doha, April 08 (QNA) – The State of Qatar participated in the extraordinary meeting of Their Excellencies the Undersecretaries of Agriculture and Food Security of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, held Wednesday via video conference.
The Qatari delegation was headed by Assistant Undersecretary for Agriculture and Food Security Affairs Eng. Fahad bin Mohammed Al Qahtani.
The meeting discussed a package of measures taken by the GCC countries in light of the current circumstances, aimed at strengthening strategic food reserves, ensuring the smooth flow of food supply chains among GCC countries, and facilitating trade with exporting and importing countries.
The Undersecretaries were also briefed on the outcomes of the 5th extraordinary meeting of the Executive Council of the Customs Union Authority and the decisions of the Committee of Ministers of Transport and Communications issued at its 28th extraordinary meeting, within the framework of supporting the food security system and enhancing integration and coordination of joint efforts among the GCC countries.
