Moscow, June 06 (QNA) – Russia said it intercepted 25 Ukrainian drones over the Leningrad region overnight as the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, which concludes on Saturday, was underway.
Governor of Leningrad Oblast, Alexander Drozdenko, said air defense forces shot down 25 drones and indicated that military operations were continuing in the area.
In a separate statement, Mayor of Moscow, Sergei Sobyanin, said on Telegram that Russian air defenses intercepted eight Ukrainian drones that were headed toward Moscow early Saturday.
The war between Russia and Ukraine continues amid an escalation in reciprocal missile and drone attacks along the front lines, while political efforts aimed at ending the conflict remain stalled. (QNA)
