Russian regions enforce remote work and fuel rationing amid severe shortage

Moscow, July 11 (Petra) — Russian authorities in the Novosibirsk
region and the eastern cities of Tomsk and Irkutsk announced on
Saturday that public and private sector employees will transition to
remote work, alongside measures to reduce private vehicle use, as a
regional fuel crisis deepens.

“Due to a severe fuel shortage in eastern Russia and Siberia, many
operations in both the public and private sectors have transitioned
to remote work,” the government of the Novosibirsk region said in a
statement. “Temporary restrictions have also been imposed on the
volume of fuel sales permitted at filling stations.”
