Amman, Sept. 29 (Petra) — Saudi Arabia has renewed its affirmation
that the two-state solution is the only path to achieving a just and
lasting peace during the participation of its permanent mission to
the United Nations and international organizations in Geneva in the
general debate under agenda item 7 on the human rights situation in
Palestine and other occupied Arab territories.

In a statement delivered by Director General of the General
Administration of Humanitarian Affairs and the General Administration
for International Positions and Nominations at the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs, Salem Al-Qahtani, the Kingdom condemned in the
strongest terms the continued Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip,
stressing the need to uphold the ceasefire and ensure full protection
for civilians.

He also expressed the Kingdom’s condemnation of the expansion of
settlement activities and settler terrorism, reiterating the
categorical rejection of any measures aimed at forcibly displacing
the Palestinian people or any attempts to alter the geographic or
demographic character of the occupied Palestinian territory.

Al-Qahtani noted that Saudi Arabia values the important steps taken
by several countries to recognize the State of Palestine and the
subsequent strengthening of accountability measures, including
restrictions on trade with Israeli settlements.

One year after the adoption of the New York Declaration, he renewed
the affirmation of what was stated in the statement by the co-chairs
of the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State
Solution, that Gaza and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem,
constitute a single Palestinian territorial unit, and that the
occupation must end.

The Kingdom renewed its affirmation that the only path to achieving a
just, lasting, and comprehensive peace is the implementation of the
two-state solution and support for the Palestinian people’s
inalienable right to self-determination and to establish their
independent, sovereign state on the basis of the 1967 borders, with
East Jerusalem as its capital.
