‘Tashgeel’ provides employment for 14,422 people since April 2022

Amman, Jan. 4 (Petra) — A total of 14,422 people have started new jobs through a government-sponsored program launched in April 2022 under agreements with 829 private-sector institutions.

According to data obtained by the Jordan News Agency (Petra), 7,630 females and 6,792 males have been placed into jobs since last April, of which 1,114 are beneficiaries of the National Aid Fund.

The program, which aims to provide 60,000 private-sector jobs, has so far made 43,933 job openings available, while a total of 43,076 job-seekers registered for the program.

Applicants are employed in accordance with employers’ needs and in coordination with economic sector representatives. Under the scheme, a man or woman employed by a private sector entity will receive a JD130 monthly wage subsidy for a maximum of six months, provided that the employer offers the employee a one-year contract at least.

Moreover, the program also entails a JD10 contribution to the worker’s monthly social security premium and a similar amount as a transportation allowance for a maximum of 6 months.
