Amman, June 28 (Petra) — A gradual rise in temperatures is expected
to continue through midweek, with relatively hot conditions becoming
more widespread across the country while hot weather persists in the
Badia and low-lying regions, according to the Jordan Meteorological
Department.

Forecasters said Sunday’s temperatures will edge slightly higher,
bringing mild conditions to the mountainous areas and relatively hot
to hot weather across the rest of the country. Moderate northwesterly
winds are expected to remain active at times, particularly during the
afternoon.

Another slight increase in temperatures is forecast on Monday,
pushing conditions to relatively hot levels across most regions. The
Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba are expected to
remain hot, while moderate northwesterly winds continue to strengthen
intermittently.

The prevailing weather pattern is expected to remain largely
unchanged on Tuesday and Wednesday, with relatively hot weather
dominating most areas. Hot conditions will continue across the Badia
and the country’s lowest-elevation regions, accompanied by moderate
northwesterly winds that are expected to become active at intervals.

Sunday’s temperatures are forecast to reach 33 degrees Celsius in
East Amman and 31 degrees in West Amman. Highs are expected to reach
28 C in both the northern and Sharah highlands, while the plains are
forecast to record 33 C.

The highest temperatures are expected in the southern and low-lying
regions, with forecasts pointing to 37 C in the Badia, 39 C in the
northern Jordan Valley, 40 C at the Dead Sea, and 41 C in both the
southern Jordan Valley and Aqaba.
