Third Annual Forum for Disabled Persons in Al-Quds Organized by Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency

In a recent press release, the Agency announced that this gathering, now in its third consecutive year, will serve as part of the observance of the Day of Disabled Persons in Al-Quds, a tradition upheld by the Agency every April 12th. Approximately ten active organizations and institutions in the disability sector are set to participate alongside over 200 disabled individuals and their caregivers.

Representing diverse categories of disabilities, including physical, visual, and hearing impairments, participants will include officials from various centers catering to individuals with specific needs, as highlighted by the Agency’s statement.

The Agency’s commitment to inclusiveness extends beyond rhetoric, with logistical support initiatives in place to ensure seamless access to the venue for all participants. Notably, the provision of Braille-enabled brochures for the visually impaired and sign language interpretation for the hearing impaired underscores the Agency’s dedication to accessibility.

The Forum’s agenda promises a comprehensive exploration of pertinent issues, including insights into the reality of rehabilitation institutions in Al-Quds. Spearheaded by the Arribat Observatory, a team dedicated to observation, monitoring, and evaluation under the Agency’s umbrella in Al-Quds, this presentation aims to shed light on the challenges and successes in the field.

Expert-led sessions will delve into topics such as the digitization of psychological support services and the institutionalization of assistance for marginalized individuals within the Al-Quds society. Furthermore, the Forum will feature inspiring success stories showcasing impactful projects implemented by associations and institutions working tirelessly in the realm of disability advocacy.

A significant highlight of the event will be the signing of agreements aimed at bolstering support and financing for projects benefiting disabled individuals. This initiative aligns with the Agency’s ongoing commitment to allocating a portion of its social funds annually to initiatives championed by associations and institutions dedicated to serving those with specific needs.

As preparations for the third annual Forum for Disabled Persons in Al-Quds gather momentum, anticipation mounts for a day of collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and collective action aimed at enhancing the quality of life for all members of society, regardless of ability.

The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency, overseen by the Al-Quds Committee under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, is gearing up to host the third installment of its annual Forum for Disabled Persons in the Holy City. Scheduled for next Saturday, the event will revolve around the theme "Improving Quality of Life, a Collective Responsibility."
