Amman, Aug. 11 (Petra) — Three people, two women and a child, were
killed on Tuesday after being struck by a heavy truck on the Desert
Highway, the Public Security Directorate’s spokesperson said.
The spokesperson said the directorate’s Ma’an Police Department
operations room received a report of the accident on Tuesday evening.
The truck driver fled the scene after abandoning his vehicle, but
police pursued, located, and arrested him.
An investigation has been launched, the spokesperson added.
