Amman, Feb. 9 (Petra) – Minister of Transport Wesam Tahtamouni visited Jordan Airports Company at (JAC) Amman Civil Airport (Marka) on Sunday to review the latest developments and steps taken toward the airport’s reopening.

During her visit, Tahtamouni held a meeting with JAC’s CEO, Mohammad Al-Jaloudi, alongside representatives from the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC), Royal Jordanian (RJ), and other stakeholders. Discussions focused on the necessary measures to finalize the airport’s operational readiness.
The minister received a briefing from JAC on the completed steps and future plans to ensure the airport’s full readiness.

She instructed the preparation of a corrective program and a comprehensive operational plan as soon as possible to complete all necessary procedures for the official reopening.

Talks also covered the steps already implemented and those still required to meet operational standards. The parties agreed to hold periodic meetings to monitor the progress of licensing and operational preparations.

Al-Jaloudi affirmed that JAC is working at full capacity to ensure the airport’s readiness and prompt reopening, emphasizing ongoing efforts to meet all operational requirements in line with approved standards.

In a separate meeting, Tahtamouni chaired a discussion involving representatives from JAC, Airport International Group, and relevant authorities to explore investment opportunities in lands adjacent to Queen Alia International Airport.

The minister urged stakeholders to collaborate on an investment strategy that maximizes the utilization of these lands in a way that serves common interests and strengthens the sector’s role.

She reiterated the government’s commitment to prioritizing the aviation sector and aligning it with global industry standards.
