Amman, August 11 (Petra) – The UN Agency for Palestine Refugees
(UNRWA) confirmed on Tuesday that its Kalandia Training Center in
occupied East Jerusalem remains operational; continuing to provide
vocational education and skills training.
UNRWA noted that for over 75 years, it has delivered basic education
to roughly 48,000 children and vocational training to more than 2,000
young Palestinian refugees across the occupied West Bank.
The agency pointed to the Kalandia Center as a “vital component” of
these efforts, equipping hundreds of young Palestinians each year
with professional qualifications to enter the workforce and achieve
economic independence amid socioeconomic hardship.
UNRWA said the center “is not an empty compound” and that its doors
remain open, reaffirming its commitment to providing educational and
vocational programs for Palestinian youth.
