Venezuela Earthquake Death Toll Climbs to 920 as Search Efforts Continue

Amman, June 26 (Petra)– The death toll from the two powerful
earthquakes that struck Venezuela on Wednesday, causing widespread
devastation, has risen to 920 as search and rescue operations
continued on Friday, while the United Nations estimated that more
than 50,000 people remain missing.

Jorge Rodríguez, president of the National Assembly, announced that
the death toll from the twin earthquakes, which measured 7.2 and 7.5
in magnitude, had increased to 920, according to international news
agencies.
