Vice President of Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee Participates in ITU Annual Congress Meetings in Spain

Riyadh, September 22, 2023, SPA – Vice President of Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee (SOPC) and President of Asian Triathlon Confederation Prince Fahd bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed has participated in the meetings of the executive office and the annual congress of the International Triathlon Union (ITU) held in the Spanish city of Pontevedra.
The meetings were chaired by President of ITU Marisol Casado with representatives from various national and continental federations for triathlon, including President of the Saudi Triathlon Federation Ali Maqbool and Vice President Joud Jamjoom.
Various topics about developing and spreading the triathlon comprehensive sport worldwide were discussed during the meetings.
Prince Fahd bin Jalawi focused on consolidating the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s role in international sports and enhancing interaction and cooperation with other international federations.
On the sidelines of the meetings, Prince Fahd bin Jalawi met with President of the European Triathlon Union (ETU) Renato Bertrandi and President of the American Triathlon Union Liber Garcia.
During these meetings, the officials discussed ways to fortify relations between the federations, develop the triathlon sport, provide a suitable practice environment, bring it to international forums, and support its champions.
Prince Fahd bin Jalawi signed with the President of ETU a cooperation agreement to enhance means of cooperation and development in all aspects, in addition to hosting a joint championship for the European and Asian continents in the Turkish city of Istanbul in 2025.
