In a Joint Statement published following his talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, the two ministers also hailed the momentum generated by the Atlantic African States Process, which aims to make the Atlantic African space an area of co-emergence and stability, as well as a geostrategic framework that harbors major opportunities for synergy and cooperation between its member countries in strategic areas such as environment, food safety, health, energy, logistical interconnection, pooling of resources and exchange of experience.

The two parties also welcomed the progress achieved on the Morocco-Nigeria West African gas pipeline megaproject, and the ways in which coordination and cooperation have been strengthened on this project, a symbol of South-South cooperation which, once completed, will help improve the living conditions for local populations and strengthen regional economic integration.

The two heads of diplomacy also expressed their satisfaction with the progress of work and infrastructure on the Cocody Bay rehabilitation project in Abidjan, which was launched by His Majesty King Mohammed VI and His Brother His Excellency President Alassane Ouattara in 2014.
