The centuries-old relations of friendship and cooperation between Morocco and Belgium are based on mutual trust and are projected towards promising prospects of strategic partnership, Bourita underlined at a press briefing following his talks with Belgian Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs, Foreign Trade and the Federal Cultural Institutions, Bernard Quintin.
The Minister noted that these relations draw their strength from the distinguished ties between the two royal families, and the strong human ties between the two peoples, recalling that the Moroccan community in Belgium exceeds 600,000 and that the Belgian community established in Morocco boasts more than 5,000 people.
Over the past four years, bilateral relations have experienced positive momentum, he said, affirming that these ties are based on fundamental principles, including a deep understanding of the common interests and strategic priorities of the two parties.
Bourita also noted that bilateral cooperation was crowned by the holding in 2024 of the Morocco-Belgium High Joint Partnership Commission, which adopted an ambitious roadmap for the future of Moroccan-Belgian ties.
