Oman Sports Community Mourns Former National Team Player Abdul Salam Amer

Muscat, 22 Jan
(ONA) — Abdul Salam Amer Al Mukhaini, former football player of Oman national
team and Dhofar Club, passed away yesterday at age 37.

Abdul Salam began his career with Oman National Team in 2009. He played 70 international
matches, including Asian Cup qualifiers, the World Cup qualifiers and the Arabian Gulf Cup.

Earlier, Abdul
Salam played for a number of GCC regional clubs, including Kuwait Club, Al Raed FC (Saudi
Arabia) and FC Baniyas (UAE), as well as local teams of Al-Orouba and Dhofar. With those teams, he lifted many prestigious trophies, the latest of which was Oman
Super Cup last Tuesday, 14 January 2025.
