TSC Member Ibrahim Jabir Praises Engineering Corps’ Role in Peace and War

Khartoum, Jan. 12, 2026 (SUNA) – Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Assistant to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Preparing the Environment for the Return to Khartoum State, General Engineer Ibrahim Jabir, commended the Engineering Corps for its pivotal role during both military operations and peacetime efforts.During an inspection visit on Monday to the Engineering Corps headquarters in Omdurman, General Jabir praised the corps’ sacrifices on the battlefield, as well as its ongoing work in mine clearance and the removal of war remnants. The visit was attended by the Commander of the Omdurman Military Zone and the Commander of the Engineering Corps, Major General Engineer Zafir Omer Abdel-Gadir.Lt. General Jabir stated that the role of the Engineering Corps extended beyond combat operations to include substantial contributions to the rehabilitation of roads, bridges, and airports across several Sudanese cities, underscoring its importance in restoring normal life and supporting national recovery efforts.For his part, Commander of the Engineering Corps Major General Engineer Zafir Omer Abdel-Gadir reaffirmed the corps’ full readiness to contribute to rebuilding infrastructure damaged by the war and to advancing development throughout the country.The visit came in recognition of the steadfastness and courage of the Engineering Corps’ personnel and the Commandership of Omdurman Military Zone, which played a decisive role in confronting repeated ground attacks and drone strikes, ultimately contributing to the restoration of security and stability in Khartoum State.FA/BH
