Omdurman, Jan. 13, 2026 (SUNA) – Prime Minister, Dr. Kamal Idris, offered condolences Tuesday afternoon to the family of the late artist Dr. Abdel-Gadir Salim at their home in Omdurman.The Prime Minister affirmed that the late artist Dr. Abdel-Gadir Salim is considered a towering artistic figure who presented all that is creative and distinctive for the sake of the nation and society in the fields of singing, arts, and heritage.He clarified that the deceased represents one of the most prominent pillars of art and heritage, whose continuous contributions played a role in developing Sudanese art and introducing the regional and international community to Sudanese heritage. He noted that the departed left behind a great artistic legacy that will remain immortal in the conscience of the Sudanese people.His Excellency the Prime Minister offered sincere condolences to his friends, colleagues, students, and those who recognized his merit, pledging to implement the late artist’s most prominent bequests, notably his initiatives related to countering hate speech and enhancing the voluntary return of citizens.For her part, the family representative, Dr. Wijdan Abdel-Gadir Salim, expressed thanks to His Excellency the Prime Minister, noting that the visit left a positive impact on their hearts. She affirmed the government of hope’s care for artists and creators who have offered distinguished contributions to the nation and society.Also speaking on behalf of the family, Yusuf Abdal-Mannan expressed his gratitude to His Excellency the Prime Minister for this gracious visit.
