Khartoum, January 21, 2026 (SUNA) — Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris praised the historic positions of the Ansar leadership and their role in unifying the national front and mending the country’s social fabric.The remarks came during his meeting in Khartoum on Wednesday with Imam Ahmed Al‑Mahdi and Prince Abdulrahman Al‑Sadiq Al‑Mahdi, along with their accompanying delegation, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Ali Mohammed Ali.Dr. Idris expressed deep pleasure at Imam Ahmed Al-Mahdi’s return to Khartoum, noting that it carries clear indications of the Sudanese people’s victory and the restoration of normal life in Khartoum State. In this context, he underscored the Hope Government’s commitment to providing all basic services to enable citizens to return to their homes in the capital.During the meeting, the Prime Minister delivered a comprehensive briefing on the Hope Government’s achievements in the recent period despite the exceptional circumstances facing the country, as well as its plans and project programmes for the next phase. He affirmed that Sudan is on the threshold of a comprehensive renaissance across all productive, service, and health sectors.For their part, the delegation expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the warm reception, affirming that the visit comes in support of the Hope Government’s projects and programmes in the coming phase, and in the spirit of working as one front to strengthen national cohesion, unify ranks, and achieve peace and stability throughout Sudan.BH/BH
