Port Sudan, Jan. 22, 2026 (SUNA) – The Wali of White Nile State, Lt. Gen. Qamar-El-Din Mohamed Fadl Al Mawla, met on Thursday at the Sudanese Customs Authority headquarters in Port Sudan with Lt. Gen. (Police) Salah Mohamed Ibrahim, Director General of the Customs Authority.The meeting focused on arrangements for operating border crossings in the state, with particular emphasis on Al Makhalif crossing in Al Jabalain locality on the border with the Republic of South Sudan.Lt. Gen. Fadl Al Mawla affirmed that the state has undertaken significant preparatory and rehabilitation measures with the aim of opening the crossing in the near future. He highlighted that the state government has fulfilled all its obligations regarding the crossing, underscoring its importance for economic, social, and security reasons.FA/BH
