12th International Scientific Conference of Sudanese Orthopaedic Surgeons Concludes in Port Sudan

Port Sudan, Jan. 24, 2026 (SUNA) – The 12th International Scientific Conference of the Sudanese Orthopaedic Surgeons Association concluded on Saturday at Al-Rabwa Hall in Port Sudan, with wide participation by experts and consultants from inside and outside Sudan.President of the Sudanese Orthopaedic Surgeons Association Dr. Mahmoud Al-Badri told the Sudan News Agency (SUNA) that the conference was highly successful, featuring specialized scientific papers addressing war-related fractures, multiple fractures, bone tumours, and complex orthopaedic cases, in light of the exceptional circumstances currently facing the country.He said the conference issued a number of key recommendations, most notably the need for continuous training and professional development in orthopaedic surgery, the establishment of modern treatment protocols, and the strengthening of partnerships with sisterly and friendly countries to facilitate the exchange of doctors and expertise. This also includes hosting international experts for training and knowledge transfer.Dr. Al-Badri affirmed that one of the most important recommendations was the call to establish a Sudanese National Center for Orthopaedic Surgery, highlighting its pivotal role in training and qualifying national cadres, supporting scientific research, and identifying the needs of orthopaedic sub-specialties.He commended the ongoing support and patronage of Minister of Health Professor Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim for the Association’s activities.FA/BH
