Federal Minister of Animal Resources Begins Official Two-Day Visit to White Nile State

Kosti, Feb. 10, 2026 (SUNA) — Federal Minister of Animal Resources and Fisheries Professor Ahmed Al-Tijani Al-Mansouri arrived in White Nile State Tuesday on an official two-day visit.He was received by the State’s Minister of Production and Economic Resources Engineer Wisal Al-Sheikh, representing the Wali, along with Secretary-General of the Higher Council for Animal Resources, Fisheries and Rangelands Dr. Abdel-Samie Musa.During the visit, the Federal Minister is scheduled to review a number of projects, programmes, and plans aimed at advancing the animal resources sector, in addition to conducting field visits to proposed sites for several development projects across the state.The Minister affirmed that the sector will witness financing for multiple projects in fish farming, poultry, and dairy production, as well as the rehabilitation of veterinary service centres, including abattoirs, veterinary hospitals, veterinary research laboratories, and fisheries research facilities. He outlined the key features of the ministry’s strategic plan, which aims to implement development projects and establish an integrated animal production city in each state. He also noted that several entities have expressed interest in investing in Sudan.For her part, the State’s Minister of Production and Economic Resources Engineer Wisal Al-Sheikh welcomed the visit, affirming that White Nile State is well positioned to attract both national and foreign investors. She expressed hope that the visit will be productive and contribute to supporting and developing the animal resources sector in the state.Meanwhile, the Secretary-General of the Higher Council for Animal Resources, Fisheries and Rangelands Dr. Abdel-Samie Musa stressed the importance of the visit for the sector in the state, reiterating the council’s commitment to its development, particularly after damage to infrastructure, research laboratories, and veterinary quarantine facilities caused by the war. He added that the state is rich in promising investment opportunities in animal and fisheries production, in addition to fertile rangelands and a strategic location that qualifies it to play an effective role in supporting the national economy.BH/BH
