Dongola, Feb. 11, 2026 (SUNA) – President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, offered condolences on the martyrdom of Major General Muawiya Hamad, Commander of the 22nd Infantry Division in Babanusa, during a visit to Al-Suleim area in Dongola.The TSC President praised the sacrifices of the martyrs of the Battle of Dignity in defence of the nation’s unity and sovereignty, commending the late commander’s steadfast and heroic stand. He said the position taken by Maj. Gen. Muawiya Hamad reflects the valour of the armed forces and the Sudanese people at large.Al-Burhan affirmed that the land that produced the fallen commander will bring forward others who will restore Sudan’s glory and the armed forces’ strength while safeguarding national unity.He reiterated the leadership’s pledge of loyalty to the martyrs, asserting that operations will continue until the country is cleared of mercenaries, agents, and traitors, and declared that the battle will not end until the rebellion is eliminated.The TSC President also commended the Sudanese people’s strong backing of the armed forces, stressing that victory depends on cooperation, solidarity, and national cohesion. He added that popular resistance will be upheld even after the war ends.He concluded by affirming that the armed forces will regain all territories occupied by the rebel militia.BH/BH
