Doha, February 20 (QNA) – Secretary-General of the Qatar Tennis, Squash, Padel, and Badminton Federation, Tariq Zainal, confirmed the success of holding the knockout rounds of the 2026 Qatar ExxonMobil Open in two sessions during Ramadan.
The format provided a comfortable organizational environment for staff and volunteers while allowing fans to attend in large numbers after Iftar.
Zainal said the evening session, starting at 7:30 PM, attracted significant crowds, with families filling the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex.
He noted the high attendance reflected the presence of top-ranked global players in the 500-point tournament, increasing competition and fan engagement.
Approximately 7,000 tickets for the final rounds sold out completely, with semi-final and final matches also selling out early.
Zainal emphasized that the two-session approach enhanced the quality of organization and ensured smooth match operations.
He concluded by expressing pride in the event’s organizational and public success and thanked volunteers, staff, and partners, affirming the federation’s commitment to delivering exceptional editions befitting Qatar’s status as a premier host of global sporting events. (QNA)
