Amman, February 25 (QNA) – Jordanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ayman Safadi, met Wednesday with Special Assistant to the Japanese Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador in charge of Gaza Rebuilding Assistance, Okubo Takeshi, during his visit to Amman, to discuss enhancing cooperation between the two countries and developments in the region.

Safadi underscored the criticality of upholding the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, implementing its overall items, surging the flow of adequate humanitarian aid into the enclave in an unhindered and sustainable way, and reconstructing the Gaza Strip.

He also called for moving ahead with a clear political prospect that embodies independent and sovereign Palestinian statehood along the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the two-state solution.

Safadi further noted Japan’s supportive position for the two-state solution, along with its unflagging backing of humanitarian efforts in Gaza, as well as its ongoing coordination with Jordan in the context of combined international action for humanitarian relief in Gaza. (QNA)
