Academic Quality and Accreditation to Be Top Priority in Private and Community Higher Education Institutions

Khartoum, March 5, 2026 (SUNA) –Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Ahmed Modawi Musa, affirmed the Ministry’s strong commitment to making academic quality and accreditation a top priority in private and community higher education institutions in the coming period, and to developing the environment of these institutions to ensure the quality of their outputs.This statement came as he chaired on Thursday the first meeting of the Committee for Regulating Private, Community, and Foreign Higher Education Institutions in its 30th session, attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Ali Al-Sheikh Al-Samani, and committee members including heads of technical committees and higher education experts. During the meeting, preliminary approval was granted for the establishment of two new institutions in the White Nile and Red Sea states, and several new academic programs at existing institutions were authorized.The meeting also underscored the importance of expanding higher education, particularly in the states, to ensure that the needs of students and their families are met, while maintaining an unwavering focus on academic quality.BH/BH
