Khartoum, March 10, 2026 (SUNA) – Prime Minister Kamil Idris on Tuesday directed the University of Khartoum to resume classes after the Eid Al-Fitr holiday and instructed the Ministry of Energy to restore electricity to the campus.The directive came during the prime minister’s second visit on Tuesday afternoon to inspect the university. He was accompanied by Minister of Energy Engineer Al-Mu’tasim Ibrahim, the Prime Minister’s advisers Nizar Abdallah Mohamed and Badr-Eddin Al-Jiafari, and Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers Ali Mohamed Ali.Prime Minister Kamil Idris also instructed the university administration to complete ongoing rehabilitation and cleaning efforts, affirming the government’s commitment to restoring the University of Khartoum to its former stature—and to an even better standard—given its status as the mother of Sudanese universities.BH/BH
