Amman, May 19 (Petra) — The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, in
partnership with the founding States of the Global Initiative to
Galvanize Political Commitment to International Humanitarian Law and
the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), announced that
the High-Level Conference on Humanity in War will be convened in
Jordan on Monday, 7 December 2026.
The High-Level Conference will bring together Heads of State and
Government to stand united in sending a unified message reaffirming
that the rules of war are fundamental to preserving our shared
humanity.
The Conference comes as part of the Global Initiative launched in
September 2024 by Jordan, together with Brazil, China, France,
Kazakhstan and South Africa, in partnership with the ICRC, to
strengthen political commitment to international humanitarian law and
enhance the protection of civilians in armed conflicts.
The founding States encouraged all countries to participate in the
Conference at the highest possible political level, reflecting the
importance of collective international action to uphold humanity in
times of war.
