India Discuss Enhancing Economic Partnership, Expanding Joint Cooperation
New
Delhi, 7 Oct 2026 (ONA) — The 15th session of the Strategic Consultation Group
meeting between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of India was held today
in New Delhi.
The
Omani side at the meeting was headed by Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy,
Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs, while the Indian
side was headed by Sripriya Ranganathan, Secretary of the Ministry of External
Affairs for Consular, Passport and Overseas Indian Affairs.
The
meeting included discussions on ways to activate the Comprehensive Economic
Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the two countries, contributing to
enhancing commercial and investment exchange and expanding horizons of joint
economic cooperation.
The
two sides reviewed aspects of cooperation in the fields of civil aviation,
maritime transport, logistics, and energy, alongside discussing several
consular issues and bilateral agreements, and exchanging views on regional
developments.
The
meeting was attended by Issa Saleh Al Shaibani, Ambassador of the Sultanate of
Oman to the Republic of India, and a number of officials from both sides.
