Amman, May 23 (Petra) – France decided to ban Israeli National
Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir from entering its territory
following a video showing him mocking activists from the “Global
Resilience Flotilla” while they were kneeling and handcuffed,
referring to them as “supporters of terrorism.”
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot announced the decision in a
post on the platform X on Saturday, stating: “As of today, Itamar
Ben-Gvir is banned from entering French territory.”
He condemned what he described as “unacceptable actions” against
French and European citizens who were aboard the flotilla.
According to reports, Israeli forces intercepted the “Global
Resilience Flotilla” off the coast of Cyprus before detaining the
activists and forcibly returning them to Turkey.
The video, which drew international condemnation, was reportedly
filmed inside a detention facility in the city of Ashdod and showed
dozens of activists kneeling while handcuffed.
