Amman, June 7 (Petra) — On World Environment Day, the Ministry of
Environment and Orange Jordan implemented a voluntary field
initiative aimed at promoting environmental awareness, establishing
community-led habits to maintain cleaner public spaces, and reducing
vehicle littering as part of their joint environmental and social
responsibility and efforts to establish sustainable practices.
The initiative was executed under the umbrella of the “Engage for
Change” program, which facilitates the participation of Orange Group
employees across the Middle East and Africa region in sustainable
community service. Under the campaign, waste bags were distributed to
drivers and citizens at intersections and traffic lights while
applying the highest safety standards and preventive measures to
ensure that volunteer activities are carried out in a safe
environment.
The Ministry of Environment stressed the importance of collaboration
between the public and private sectors in supporting national efforts
to protect the environment and foster community awareness of
environmental issues, noting that adopting positive behaviors in
daily life contributes to maintaining immaculate public facilities
and reducing pollution.
For its part, Orange Jordan affirmed its continued commitment to
environmental sustainability and social responsibility by
implementing initiatives and programs that contribute to creating a
positive and sustainable impact on society.
