Baku, July 8 (Petra) — President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received
on Wednesday in Baku Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign
and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi.
Safadi conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Abdullah II to
President Aliyev, along with his wishes for further progress and
prosperity for Azerbaijan and its people.
President Aliyev conveyed his greetings to King Abdullah II and
expressed Azerbaijan’s interest in continuing to strengthen bilateral
relations with Jordan.
Safadi delivered an invitation from King Abdullah to President Aliyev
to visit Jordan, while President Aliyev extended an invitation to His
Majesty to visit Azerbaijan.
The meeting highlighted the importance of Jordan-Azerbaijan relations
and discussed ways to enhance cooperation across various sectors.
President Aliyev and Safadi discussed opportunities to expand
cooperation through continued coordination and meetings between
relevant officials, particularly in the fields of economy, energy,
investment, and tourism.
They also emphasized the need to build on the outcomes of the
Jordanian-Azerbaijani Joint Committee for Economic, Trade, and
Technical Cooperation, which was held in Baku on November 26, 2025.
Discussions also covered strengthening parliamentary cooperation,
developing tourism ties, and exploring the possibility of
establishing direct and regular flights between the two countries.
The meeting also addressed a number of regional and international
issues of mutual interest.
