Lebanese army says Israeli forces hindered deployment in southern Lebanon

Beirut, July 21 (Petra) — The Lebanese Armed Forces said on Tuesday
that military units had completed their deployment in the southern
Lebanese town of Zawtar al-Gharbiya after conducting the necessary
coordination with the Military Technical Committee for Lebanon,
adding that troops did not enter the neighboring town of Zawtar
al-Sharqiya.

In a statement, the army said Israeli forces approached the outskirts
of Zawtar al-Gharbiya while Lebanese soldiers were inside the town
carrying out the deployment mission and opened fire in their
vicinity.

The army said the shooting endangered its personnel and obstructed
the execution of their assigned mission.

It added that any issues should be addressed by the Israeli military
through the Military Technical Committee for Lebanon and the
established coordination and communication channels, rather than
through what it described as attacks.
