Steadies as Markets Await Federal Reserve Decision

London,
15 Sep 2026 (ONA) — Gold prices steadied today after touching their lowest
level in more than a month during the previous session, as markets await the US
Federal Reserve’s monetary policy decision.

Spot
gold held firm at $4,300.96 per ounce, having recorded its lowest level since 7
August yesterday, while US gold futures slipped 0.3 percent to $4,341.10.

Markets
are awaiting the Federal Reserve’s decision tomorrow, Wednesday, with
expectations of a quarter-percentage-point rate hike to a range between 3.75
and 4.00 percent, as recent data showed inflation accelerating in the United
States during August.

Gold
was also weighed down by the rise in the yield on 10-year US Treasury bonds to
five percent, alongside escalating geopolitical tensions and rising oil prices.

Among
other precious metals, silver rose 0.1 percent to $63.28 per ounce, while
platinum fell 0.1 percent to $1,757.46, and palladium dropped 0.7 percent to
$1,283.61.
