Oman’s 5th Electricity & Energy
Conference 2026 to Begin on 12 October 2026

Muscat, 15 September 2026 (ONA) — The
5th edition of Oman Electricity and Energy Conference (2026) is set to
begin on 12 October 2026. Hosted by Nama Electricity Distribution Company, in cooperation
with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the event
aims to highlight key issues related to the electricity and energy sector.

The 3-day conference, scheduled to bring
together 5,000 participants from the Sultanate of Oman and abroad, will
highlight future prospects for electricity generation and distribution, explore
the evolution of wireless power transmission via ultrasonic waves and review
updates in electricity storage and recovery during periods of high demand.

Speakers at a press conference held today
at the premises of Nama Electricity Distribution Company affirmed that Oman
Electricity and Energy Conference 2026 will showcase the latest global
technologies in electricity production and power generation and distribution.

The event will also address global
challenges in the field of electricity production and the optimal use of
natural resources for the generation of power.

Eng. Khalfan bin Nasser Al Bartamani, Chief Commercial Officer at Nama Electricity Distribution Company, said that the
press conference, organized jointly by the company in cooperation with the IEEE, aimed to outline
salient features of the 5th edition of Oman Electricity and Energy
Conference.

Al Bartamani added that Oman Electricity and Energy Conference has seen remarkable development, by addressing key themes like energy transmission tracks and grid resilience, in a
bid to underline the Sultanate of Oman’s efforts to advance renewable energy,
enhance energy efficiency and storage, drive digital transition, produce green
hydrogen and cut down carbon emissions.

The 5th edition will be the
largest gathering to date, at it will attract 5,000 professionals from government
institutions, regulatory bodies, technology firms, consultancies, research centres
and the energy sector at large, said Al Bartamani, noting that the participants
will share expertise and explore future solutions to the challenges of
generating energy in a smarter, more resilient and more sustainable manner.

For his part, Eng. Abdullah bin
Sulaiman Al Wahaibi, Chair of the IEEE Power and Energy Society (Oman Section),
said that the conference plays a significant role in advancing Oman’s energy
ecosystem—by fostering knowledge exchange and supporting the development of the
national energy sector.
