Oman Participates in Joint Gulf-Swiss Ministerial Meeting

New York, 22 Sep 2026 (ONA) — The
Sultanate of Oman took part in the joint ministerial meeting between the Gulf
Cooperation Council (GCC) states and the Swiss Confederation, held in New York
on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The Sultanate of Oman’s
delegation to the meeting was led by Ambassador Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah Al Qatbi,
Head of the International Organizations Department at the Foreign Ministry.

The meeting examined cooperation
relations between the GCC states and the Swiss Confederation and explored ways
to strengthen and develop them across various areas of mutual interest, in
service of the shared interests of both sides.

The two sides also exchanged views on the most prominent current
regional and international issues and developments. The views also covered efforts
to reinforce security and stability. The two sides affirmed the importance of
dialogue, international cooperation and multilateral action in addressing
common challenges.
