10th Jameed and Ghee Festival to open Friday: HFDJB

Amman, July 30 (Petra) – The 10th Jameed and Ghee Festival, held by
Hashemite Fund for the Development of the Jordan Badia (HFDJB), will
kick off Friday, July 31, at King Hussein Park.

A “large” number of cooperative and charitable societies from across
the Jordanian Badia will participate.

In a press statement Thursday, Ayesh Qatarneh, HFDJB Director, said
the festival provides an “ideal” marketing platform for the
societies’ jameed and ghee products and facilitates direct purchases
for citizens.

The event, he noted, is also an opportunity that allows the public to
view products made by the Badia women and enjoy traditional Bedouin
cuisine and heritage activities.

Running from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM on Friday and Saturday, Qatarneh
said the two-day event directly contributes to marketing dairy and
cheese products produced by women’s societies throughout the
northern, central, and southern Jordanian Badia regions.

Noting its marketing and promotional role, the director noted the
festival also features entertainment and artistic activities, such
as charcoal drawing, camel riding displays, traditional cuisine,
recitations of authentic Bedouin poetry, artistic and folkloric
performances reflecting the “unique charm and heritage of the desert,
a heritage corner, and more.”

He invited citizens, residents, and tourists to Jordan to visit the
festival, take advantage of its products and exhibits, and enjoy its
diverse programs.
